About This Treatment
How Collagen Pin Microneedling Works
The Collagen P.I.N.® (Percutaneous Induction Needling) is an FDA-cleared, professional-grade microneedling device engineered to deliver precise, consistent results. Its motorized pen uses a 36-pin needle cartridge that oscillates at adjustable speeds to create thousands of uniform vertical micro-channels in the skin — far more precisely and evenly than traditional dermal rolling.
Needle depth is fully adjustable from 0 to 3mm, allowing your provider to tailor penetration depth to each treatment zone — shallower for delicate areas like around the eyes, deeper for stubborn acne scars or stretch marks. This precision is key to maximizing results while minimizing unnecessary trauma.
Each micro-channel triggers the skin’s natural wound-healing cascade — stimulating new collagen and elastin production deep in the dermis. The result is progressively firmer, smoother, and more even skin tone that continues to improve over weeks and months as new collagen matures.
At Savage Aesthetics, we pair every Collagen P.I.N. treatment with customized serums — including hyaluronic acid, growth factors, peptides (GHK-CU), or exosomes — infused directly into the micro-channels at peak absorption for amplified, personalized results.

Common Questions
Microneedling FAQ
Is microneedling painful?
We apply a topical numbing cream 30–45 minutes before your treatment, making the procedure very comfortable. Most clients describe a mild warming or tingling sensation.
How many sessions do I need?
For optimal results, a series of 3–6 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart is recommended. Maintenance sessions every 3–6 months help maintain and improve results over time.
What is the downtime?
Expect mild redness and slight swelling for 24–48 hours, similar to a mild sunburn. Most clients return to normal activities the next day. Avoid sun exposure, heavy makeup, and active skincare for 24–48 hours.
When will I see results?
Initial glow is often visible within a week. Significant improvements in texture and tone appear after 4–6 weeks as new collagen forms. Results continue to improve over 3–6 months with a series.
Is it safe for darker skin tones?
Yes! The Collagen P.I.N.® is safe for all Fitzpatrick skin types, including deeper skin tones. Unlike lasers and some energy-based devices that carry a risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation on darker skin, the P.I.N.’s mechanical micro-channeling works without heat, making it a safe and effective option for all complexions.
What makes the Collagen P.I.N.® different from a dermal roller?
The Collagen P.I.N.® uses a vertical stamping motion — needles move straight in and straight out — creating clean, uniform micro-channels. Dermal rollers drag needles at an angle, which can cause tearing rather than clean punctures, leading to more irritation and less controlled results. The P.I.N.’s 36-pin cartridge and adjustable 0–3mm depth settings also allow your provider to customize treatment precisely for each area of the face or body.
